. Clyde Pumps incorporating Weir Pumps Glasgow has secured another two large contracts from China, adding to the company’s already considerable success in nuclear power generation. Several key CPL staff from Cathcart, Shanghai and Beijing recently attended a signing ceremony with CNPEC for 16 safety related pumpsets for the Yangjiang and Hongyanhe projects. The contract signing was the outcome of many months of meetings and negotiations. These critical service units will provide reliable, quality pumpsets, which will assure continued safe operation of the nuclear power plant safety systems. These units plus the recent agreement with Shenyang Turbo-Machinery Corporation (STMC) for the main cooling water pumps, demonstrates once again Clyde Pumps capability and commitment to power generation in China and to Nuclear power in general. The success with the main cooling water pumps has been in partnership with STMC. Clyde and STMC believe this to be a winning combination with the Yangjiang and Hongyanhe projects the first of many. Future opportunities will continue to secure other packages and projects. These projects will add more than $33m to the Clyde Pumps order book and reconfirms Clyde’s position as the leading supplier of pumping solutions to the demanding and growing Chinese Nuclear Power Industry. |
