Job Description
We offer an excellent opportunity which is designed to help make the best possible start to a career with Clyde Pumps within our Sales & Marketing Department. On the job training will be provided and duties will include producing accurate and competitive tenders in accordance with our customer’s requirements and internal policies & procedures. Reviewing and understanding customers specifications, primarily for the global power and oil industries and transferring their requirements into proposal format. To assist sales in closing orders in a quick and efficient manner as required, in addition to providing product support to regional sales staff. Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments to ensure that optimum commercial and technical solutions are offered


Requirements
  • The successful candidate should have a mechanical engineering qualification, preferably to degree standard
  • Relevant experience either via placement year of vacation work in the oil or power industries
  • Suitable experience with rotating machinery would be an advantage
  • Ability to create & maintain positive working relationships with varied external and internal contacts
  • Commercial awareness
  • Numerate and commercially minded, with the ability to plan logically
  • Conversant with all MS Office computer software applications
  • Excellent communication skills and high enthusiasm
  • Flexible in their approach, willing to work in order meet customer deadlines
  • A good team player who is well organised

Job Description

Service & Spares requires a Field Service Project Engineer to support our development of a global service business to our diverse customer and product base.  The role involves the project management and supervision of local engineers in all service aspects from plant installation and commissioning through to faultfinding and pump or cartridge removal

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approved Service Provider Audits.
  • Project Manage Multiple Projects.
  • Generate Project Tenders.
  • Provide Scope Of Work Packages.
  • Expedition of Materials.
  • Internal & External Liaison with Project Stakeholders.
  • Project Budgetary Control.
  • Risk Management.

Supervising locally recruited service engineers under the instructions of the Field Service Manager.  Providing support to Technical Support Engineer on any site investigation.  Planning and effective communication are key aspects of the role complimenting sound practical experience and capability. This post shall provide the individual an opportunity to receive service related training and experience.



Requirements

The role requires a Project Engineer who ideally is HNC / HND or Degree qualified in an Engineering Discipline, experience in operating within a pump service environment. Self-management under extreme variations in climate and locations requires individuals with personal attributes and circumstances who are personally satisfied operating in such an environment. Global travelling may be required and will be dependant on the business demands

Costing Engineer (Temporary)

Job Description
The above temporary vacancy has arisen within the Operational Sales Support Department at Cathcart for a period of up to 1 year.  The successful applicant will join a Team dedicated in supporting key areas of the business in producing product costing and cost reduction.
 
Key responsibilities for the job include;
Producing on-time accurate and valid costing defined by project specific scope / specification; through the development of product costing programmes or generating them manually using our core corporate systems.
Liaise with all areas of the business to identify and implement cost reduction activities.
Provide support in the production of tender plans.


Requirements

Applicants should be time served and qualified to National Certificate level or equivalent and have a wide knowledge of the Company's products particularly in rotating equipment areas.  The ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing is required as the position involves interaction with all areas of Staff and Management.  Proven computing skills are required, in particular MS Excel and MS Projects. Awareness of ERP, SAP & MRP would also be an advantage

Job Title:

Instrumentation Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for the engineering of instrumentation and related hardware for pump sets and their ancillary equipment.  Assess and understand client specifications and apply regulatory and international standards.  Create technical specifications for the procurement of sub-supplier instrumentation equipment and to liaise with customers and suppliers on technical matters.

Assessment of Tenders, review & comment on specifications, supply of pump mounted instrumentation costs (inclusive of monitoring & control panels where applicable), production of P&ID’s & instrument schedules and review of sub-supplier quotations.  Ensuring tendered offered meets contract specification requirements, production of instrumentation parts lists and purchase requisitions.  Supply of contract documentation, instrument schedules, instrument data sheets, logic diagrams, cause & effect charts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, hook-ups, single line diagrams, IS loop calculations etc. 

Production of technical specifications for gaugeboards, monitoring panels, control panels etc and subsequent review of sub-suppliers quotations, software, documentation & test procedures.  Configuring monitoring systems (mainly Bently Nevada 3500 systems), digital panel meters, HART transmitters, trip amplifiers etc.  Inspection & test of sub-suppliers equipment including monitoring & control panels, lube oil consoles, filtration systems and flushing systems etc.  Providing support to shop floor with instrumentation assembly, test, inspection & troubleshooting.



Requirements

HNC in Instrumentation & Control (or a related subject) with at least 3 years relevant experience in detailed engineering of heavy rotating machinery, preferably pumps.  Practical knowledge and experience in mechanical assemblies and packaging of equipment.
Awareness in the application of regulatory standards and design codes for instrumentation and other international engineering guidelines relative to the pumping industry.
To be aware of the importance of relevant time, cost, quality and planning factors involved in engineering projects.  To be a pro-active team worker and share knowledge and experience with others.

The successful applicants will join a Team dedicated to providing price, delivery, technical and commercial information to customers.  Key responsibilities for the job rest in the correct interpretation of customer inquiries, calculating costs to supply spares and/or service, selecting correct commercial terms, maintaining historical files, determining selling prices, reacting to customer needs and work to departmental procedures.



Requirements

The successful candidate would be expected to communicate well, demonstrate to be a strong team player, hold strong PC learning skills and be expected to pick up the existing systems used on site. In addition have sound knowledge of rotating equipment and commercial awareness.
