New P.W.R.I. Barrel case Pump for Norwegian Platform

Teaser:
Clyde Pumps have recently completed and delivered a new P.W.R.I. Barrel case pump to the Sleipner 'A' platform, for Aibel & StatoilHydro.

Clyde Pumps Incorporating Weir Pumps Glasgow recently completed a major project for Aibel and StatoilHydro. A year long project saw Clyde Pumps supply a new Produced Water Re-Injection (P.W.R.I.) pump system on the Sleipner ‘A’ platform in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

A key part of the success can be attributed to the bid clarification period in 2006, where as part of the win-order process, the client was able to interact with Sales, Project Management & Engineering personnel who would eventually run the project within Clyde Pumps. This process resulted in a mutual high standard of understanding of client requirements and specifications that Clyde Pumps offer.

In order for the platform operator to be in compliance with the latest OSPAR regulations, the pump had to be operational by April 2008 and due to space restraints on the rig, there was a worry that the OKAA30 multistage barrel case pump [1] skid would have to be stripped and re-built on the platform. A solution was found on time to allow the complete units to be delivered fully assembled, installed and aligned by the 11th of March 2008.
